In the early morning hours Avenel (District 5) firefighters were dispatched for a reported structure fire with entrapment in the 1200 block of St. Georges Avenue. Upon arrival they found a 2 story taxpayer with heavy fire from the second floor.
A second alarm was struck requesting units from across the town to support the firefighting efforts with District 9 sending a crew from Engine 9-2 to help extinguish the blaze. Thankfully everyone was rescued from the fire with non-life threatening injuries.
